Around OpenOMS

It's been a long time since OpenOMS got a major refresh. That is why I've been working on an update during the past weeks and, finally, I can show some visible results of this work. You can find a new OpenOMS deployment on the following URL: http://thinkinbig.org/oms/

This new instance will host, not only my Projects but also some Demo Projects that will allow you to experience how OpenOMS really looks like and how it works for IT Service Management and Software Engineering.

It has taken me a significant amount of time to move all my Project Notes into OpenOMS ...

OpenOMS 1.2a3 and OpenSLIM 3.1b0 coming soon… :D

Wow! It's been a really hard time! But we are finally here again. Lot of things have happened since my last post.  One of the most significant was a extrange runtime issue with the OpenOMS live demo. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to find nor reproduce the source of the problem. So, I did finally take the decission to port the whole demo site to SourceForge servers. Now the site is already running, but I am still polishing some deatils related with the upgrade to Mantis 1.2a3 and also the required platform changes.

Back from the Darkness, Back into Play…

It's been some time since my last post. Fortunately, many things have happened :). First, I had to completely reschedule my goals for the end of the year because of two new projects that appeared to be interesting: OpenSLIM and NMTools for OpenSLIM.

OpenSLIM stands for Open Simple & Lightweight Infrastructure Manager. It is a Lightweight CMDB with certain Program Management capabilities that may be useful for those who work on the IT Service Management space. We will talk about the vision, target and particular orientation this tool has on later posts :).
